Happy weekend! The show will be taken down this evening and I finally have some pictures to show from our artist reception last night. Check them out on the new blog I created for the gallery.

So, the exhibition has begun and I can't wait to take pictures to share with you this weekend! I also started an upper room gallery blog which will be a perfect way to make this exhibition more community oriented throughout the year. Until then, here are some more images I recently added to my Etsy shop. This photo shoot took much longer than expected but really captured what I was striving for... bright colors, contrast in a stark white space. I'm a novice when it comes to product photography so this process has been a series of trials and errors but certainly worth the effort.

Next step? Rephotographing the rest of my garlands and preparing for Christmas orders. It may seem far away but tis the season for retailers. See you tomorrow with photos in hand (so to speak)!

going strong

Oh goodness. With internet going in and out (at best) its beed so difficult to stay connected with the rest of the world during building and installation here at the Upper Room Gallery. I'm so sad that I missed my Monday post and even more dissapointed that I don't have any pictures to share due to dead camera but I do plan on taking some pictures at the gallery reception at 4:00 this Friday which will be promptly shared this weekend. As for now... the walls are up and painted, signage to promote the gallery is being made, our retail area is underway and soon the ski lodge pub will be no more! Can't wait to show you.

oh craziness

What a day! My group is heading to NH this afternoon (after we pick blueberries, of course) with two cars full of gallery supplies, artwork and lots of food! Next week will include full updates about the gallery building and installation process so stay tuned...

upper room gallery - call for entries!

Summer is approaching and so is the Upper Room Gallery exhibition this August! This is a 4-day art exhibition that I direct and curate at SoulFest, a Christian music festival in Gilford, New Hampshire. I started this exhibition in 2008 and with much help from friends, family and volunteers created a professional exhibition space that's conducive to visual dialogue among Christian artists. This year we are also introducing an art retail area outside of the gallery space for work open to fine art and craft, $50 and under.

From now until the beginning of July, the gallery is accepting entries for both in and outside of the gallery. If you're an artist who is influenced by faith and looking for Christian fellowship send me an email at upperroomgallery@gmail.com and consider entering your work in this year's exhibition!

And, if your not necessarily interested in showcasing your artwork but would like to get involved, why not share other talents? The gallery continues to exhibit because of dedicated volunteers that make it happen every year. We also welcome donations of any kind for materials like paint, brushes, rollers etc. Email us if you'd like to help!
